We are please to welcome the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum Living History Program from Abilene TX
They will be setting up a complete World War II Bivouac. They will have 1942 Ford GPW 'Jeep' and also their 1942 Dodge WC51 Weapons Carrier. Members of the Living History Program not on the firing line will be demonstrating and teaching all day. They will have briefings on the weapons, uniforms, rations, equipment and daily life of the American Soldier during World War II. They will also have a group of 'Rosie the Riveters' who talk about life on the Home Front and the changes in society caused by the Woman Ordnance Workers.
They will definitely be renting the M3 'Grease Gun' Submachine Gun; two captured German MP40 'Schmeiser' Submachine Guns, and two British Sten MkIII Submachine Guns. Based on ammo availability, they may also be renting our M1919A4 Machine Gun and captured German MG34 Machine Gun. Other weapons on display for instructional purposes are: M1 Bazooka; M1911A1 .45 caliber pistol; M1 Garand; M1D Garand Sniper Rifle; M1903A4 Springfield Sniper Rifle; M1 Carbine; Walther P.38; P.08 Luger; G.43; K.98k Mauser.
Rentals will be at line spots 6 & 7, the camp will be setup behind the line spots . Be sure go by and show them support, they are raising funds to keep the museum up and running with all the budget cuts.
